2020 Droughtmaster National Sale

NINDETHANA will offer five young bulls at the 2020 Droughtmaster National Bull Sale to be held at Gracemere on 15 & 16 September 2020.  The bulls will be offered on Day 2 as Lots 449 to 454 (Lot 452 has been withdrawn).

The sires that are represented in our draft include the ever-consistent Bryvonlea Malachi, RSVP Jackpot and Karragarra Miles.

The sale bulls have been SIRE VERIFIED and HORN-POLL tested, PESTIVIRUS tested negative; POMPES tested free; fully VACCINATED (7 in 1; 3 day; botulism; pestivirus; and three germ tick fever & vibrio); and their semen has been MORPHOLOGY tested.

We are a J-BAS 7 (WA) herd.

The bulls have been raised in paddocks that mostly comprise gentle slopes, creek and river flats and plenty of ticks!   They have been worked with bikes and on foot and have had plenty of education working through the yards and handling facilities.

The bulls have been grass fed (native pastures) with access to Feedpro liquid mineral supplement and have been lightly supplemented with Riverina stock pellets.  During dry conditions, they have had access to baled Rhodes grass and forage sorghum.

Lot 449 - NINDETHANA KEATON (P) D5

Sire:  Karragarra Miles
Dam:  Wundaburra Quartz Crystal
Indent:  NPH18246M
DOB: 26/09/18
Age:  23 Months

This young sire is worthy of inspection!!  He is an absolute meat machine!!  An early maturing, easy doing young bull, Keaton has plenty of depth and thickness, extraordinary bone and ample length.  He is tidy underneath, has a strong topline, and a quiet temperament.

Sired by Karragarra Miles, who has just completed his fourth season at Nindethana. Miles was selected for his incredible depth and thickness, bone, his strong polled head and his tidy underline.  He is highly fertile and has achieved excellent pregnancy rates with reduced calving intervals during each season since purchase. His calves are low birth weight and quiet.

Dam, Wundaburra Quartz Crystal, was purchased as an unjoined heifer at the Wundaburra Stud dispersal in 2013.  She has produced seven calves in seven consecutive years including a female that was sold to Windwhistle Stud (Gemma); two commercial females (Flirty & Jacinta); a retained female that died due to a snake bite (Hope); a bull that sold at the 2018 DN Sale (Isaiah); Keaton; and a yearling bull.

Kent has been a standout since a young calf!!  He is an easy doing Malachi son that is heavily fleshed and with plenty of depth, thickness, bone and muscle. He has a great topline, tidy underline and a lovey quiet temperament.

Sire, Bryvonlea Malachi left us earlier this year after eight wonderful years.  He was a gentle giant that consistently delivered progeny that displayed his many positive attributes: length; depth; thickness; weight for age; the perfect underline; and a beautiful temperament. Many of his daughters have been retained in our stud and have gone on to produce quality progeny that have sold to a top $25,000.  Malachi’s daughters have sold at auction to a top of $5,000 and sons to a top of $23,000.

Dam, RSVP Gemima (Sylvan Springs Cowboy) was purchased as a joined heifer from the RSVP stable in 2013. She has produced six calves in six years: a female that has been retained (Gretel); a steer; a bull sold at the 2018 DN Sale (Ike); Kent; a steer; and a heifer calf at foot.

Dam:  Nindethana Giselle
Indent:  NPH18229M
DOB:  24/07/18

There is plenty to like about this young bull.  He is an early maturing fellow that is very easy doing.  He has plenty of length, depth and thickness; stands on good bone and is perfectly square.  He has a beautiful tropical coat and to top it off, is quiet and easy to manage.

Sire, RSVP Jackpot was acquired by private sale in 2015.  The son of the now deceased Orana Issac (top priced bull at the DN 1999), Jackpot enjoyed a noteworthy show career before purchase.  He has produced an impressive line of sons and daughters, many of which have been successfully exhibited, including the 2019 Royal Queensland Show Junior Champion Droughtmaster Bull (Kensington) and the 2019 Grand Champion Droughtmaster Female at the Droughtmaster Feature Show (Innika).  His sons have sold at auction to a top of $11,000 and daughters to $5,000.

Dam, Nindethana Giselle (Bryvonlea Malachi) was an absolute treasure.  She was a decorated show cow that won multiple broad ribbons and interbreed championships.  Sadly, we lost her in 2019.  Her first calf (Juliette), a full sister to Kole and has been retained.  Kole was her only other calf.
