Once weaned, our calves are grown and educated on our home block where they are exposed to plenty of human contact. Their education involves moving them through the cattle yards and crush, being exposed to physical stimulus, and tailing them on bike and foot as they walk through paddocks as a group.
Their feeding regime post weaning involves access to a suitable and soft form or roughage (desirably grassy lucerne that is purchased during summer months and stored for this purpose) and Riverina stock pellets for a period of 8 – 12 weeks.
All weaners are tested for pestivirus and are immunised for 7 in 1; tick fever; 3 day; botulism; and pestivirus.
