Our females are the foundation upon which our stud has grown and ultimately, they are responsible for our success.
Our ‘second generation’ foundation females have been carefully selected from a range of genetics and purchased exclusively from Droughtmaster Society sponsored and endorsed sales, and select dispersals of Droughtmaster studs. We also retain a selection of our own progeny on an annual basis.
Our females are naturally mated in three single sire herds. In addition, we conduct an annual artificial insemination (AI) program that enables us to introduce a selection of new and high performing genetics each year, and in 2021, we embarked upon our first IVF program.
We strive to breed females that are quiet-natured, moderate framed, structurally correct, and capable of producing and raising a calf each year.
Our females have enjoyed success in both the show ring and the sale ring and we are humbled by their performance. In the show ring, they have brought home multiple broad ribbon and interbreed championships at local shows, and broad ribbons at the Droughtmaster Futurity Show, Droughtmaster Feature Shows, the Royal Queensland Show and Beef Australia.
In the sale ring they have enjoyed top priced honours of the sale (Cream of the Crop Female Sale and Scenic Rim Bull and Female Sale), and have topped the joined and unjoined sections of the sale (Cream of the Crop Female Sale and Droughtmaster National Female Sale (joined section).
A select few of our most respected females are showcased here.
