A massive THANK YOU to everyone involved with the BEEF AUSTRALIA EXPO 2018.  We had a wonderful week that was shared with friends, colleagues and a shed full of beautiful cattle.

The Droughtmaster breed stood out, not just because of the sheer number of head in the ring, but the extraordinary quality of animals that were paraded.  We paraded seven head (number 8 was overcome by pre-show nerves) and were absolutely thrilled that five of our team placed in their respective classes.

INTERSHOW BEEF TRIFECTA 2018

An initiative of the Kilcoy, Maleny and Woodford Show Societies, the INTERSHOW BEEF TRIFECTA is a competition that runs across all three shows.

To be eligible, exhibits under the age of 18 months must compete at each show where they are awarded points according to how they place in their respective class.

At the completion of judging at the final show, the highest point scoring animal in each of the four categories (Tropical, British, European and Small Breeds) is selected and then judged by a panel of three judges.

The 2018 judging panel included Graham Brown, RSVP & Sylvan Springs Droughtmasters, Windera; Chris Anderson, Pacan Murray Grey Stud, Kilcoy; and Sarah Peters, Maleny.

The 2018 Intershow Beef Trifecta Junior Champion Bull was awarded to Nindethana Jurabull and the Beef Trifecta Junior Champion Female to Nindethana Joy.

The winners were announced and sashed during the Grand Parade at the Woodford Show last weekend and between them, the young champions took home $1,200 in prize money.

THANK YOU to the Kilcoy, Maleny and Woodford Show Societies for establishing this great initiative to encourage stud beef cattle owners to exhibit at their respective shows.
